In Cisterna dell’ Olio street (Napoli, Italy) at the bottom level of an ancient building in which rests of antique oil cisterns lie there is the 19th century founded family publishing company Francesco Giannini & Figli S.P.A.
The founder Francesco Giannini was very keen on the typographical art supported by his motto “ with the work you reign”, his editorial and graphic activity was carried out by professional quality and harmonic use of human resources.
Giannini's publishing outcome was strictly connected to the cultural and productive life of Naples as showed by working relantionships with University, the Society of Neapolitan Patriarchal History, writers and editors like Marghieri, Detken, Pellerano, Rondinella, newspapers and magazines as "Roma", "Il Corriere del Mattino", "Il Pungolo", "la Civiltà Cattolica", with many customers like the great writer Alexandre Dumas. the printing of many essays, studies, collections and legal volumes.


The high quality level of the printing of many essays, studies, collections and legal volumes melting with a superb artistic execution has been greatly appreciated as far as at the beginning of the 20th Father Galliani d'Imola praised the Giannini production defining that "refulgent, beautiful and an art of sharpness".

The Giannini Company has been representing itself as a meeting place deputed to the artistic dialogue, producing a real cultural effort, hosting famous people in literary, artistic, social and political fields.

In the 151 years of publishing activity the company has been awarded with 5 gold medals for industrial merit and participated to the foundation of the Industrial Union of the Province of Napoli.
